2022 Events and Festivities

This April, some exciting events and festivals are coming to the island of Kauai.

Things really are starting to ramp up, but as before, we recommend still keeping a close eye on them as the dates approach. We’ve provided links/resources to help you do just that.

Here are a few of the most exciting events on Kauai’s April calendar.

Kauai Brewers Festival

There’s nothing like drinking beer and supporting a local nonprofit as you do it. Throw in the bonus of being in a tropical paradise in springtime, along with the fact that the nonprofit in question is all about protecting and preserving the culture of said paradise, and it gets pretty hard to argue with.

This precisely describes what is in store for Kauai visitors this April. Kauai Brewers Festival is a fundraiser for Kamawaelualani and will be held at the beautiful Poipu Beach Athletic Club. Sponsors include Salty Wahine, HI95Kauai, and Kauai Island Brewing Company - who compellingly identify themselves as the “world’s westernmost brewery.”

Indeed, that may in all likelihood make this the world’s westernmost brewers festival, and it is yours to attend this April in Poipu Beach - of course, so long as you’re over 21.

In addition to beer, there will also be food, live music from Kauai Kollab and Cruz Control, and other fundraising games/contests like beer pong, cornhole, and Portuguese horseshoe.

When: Saturday, April 9th, 2PM to 6PM
Where: Poipu Beach Athletic Club

Makai Music & Art Festival

In the month of April, the Makai Music & Art Festival in Princeville will feature different musicians and locally made goods every Wednesday.

Located at the Princeville Makai Golf Club, the setting for this festival could not be more picturesque. Despite the world-class scenery, however, parking for this event is totally free!

In addition to a wide and intriguing range of local artists (Alia Photography, North Shore Koa, and Charka Ascension Jewelry, to name a few) there will also be food and drink served by Makai Grill - including a signature Makai Tai and Makai burger.

There are 4 Wednesdays in April this year - the first landing on the 6th. Makai Music & Art Festival will be open 1 PM to 5 PM for each one of them.

When: Wednesdays, April 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, 1 PM to 5 PM
Where: Princeville Makai Golf Club
More Info: Makai Music & Art Festival

Princeville Night Market

Held the 2nd Sunday of every month, the Princeville Night Market falls on the 10th of April this year. Food trucks, live music, and the best Kauai artisans - all together while the sun sets. What more could you ask for?

This market is as good a chance as any to connect with locals and local culture. Admire what’s being painted, taste what’s being cooked, hear what’s being played and sung, and plenty more. In total, there are no less than 40 different local vendors all gathered together at this one awesome market. You won’t want to miss it!

When: Sunday, April 10th, 4 PM to 8 PM
Where: Princeville Center
More Info: Princeville Night Market

We hope you find this to be a helpful introductory guide to the month of April in Kauai this year! As always, mahalo and best wishes for your visit!
