Planning Tips for July in Maui

Book Early: The Makawao Stampede is genuinely popular and tickets do sell out, especially for weekend events.

Transportation: Rent a car for Upcountry events like the Stampede. Makawao is about 45 minutes from most resort areas.

Weather: July is peak summer - expect warm, sunny days perfect for beach time and outdoor activities.

Dress Code:

  • Stampede: Casual Western wear is welcome but not required
  • Beach/resort events: Standard resort casual
  • Bring sun protection and layers for elevation changes

Local Tip: Balance the excitement of organized events with Maui's natural attractions. July's excellent weather makes it perfect for Haleakalā sunrise visits, Road to Hana adventures, and snorkeling at Molokini Crater.
