Puu Ualakaa Park

Oahu Sights

Located along the Tantalus Drive, this park contains the best views from Mount Tantalus. In fact, if you watch the movie Blue Hawaii with Elvis Presley, this is where he and his girlfriend went for a picnic.

The overlook at Pu'u Ualakaa Park offers a panoramic view of southern O'ahu from Diamond Head through Waikiki to Punchbowl Crater and the Honolulu International Airport

Admission and parking are free. There are plenty of grassy picnic areas available as well as restroom facilities. Do not leave valuables in your car.

Directions: From Waikiki take Kalakaua Avenue out of Waikiki toward the mountains. Turn right onto King Street. At the first light turn left onto Punahou. Continue on Punahou and turn left onto Nehoa. Turn right onto Makiki Hights Drive. The road will deadend. Turn right onto Tantalus Drive (Round the Top). Turn right in the Puu Ualakaa Park.
