The Shark and Turtle Dive for Certified Divers from Shore leads at 85/100. It's a shore-entry dive targeting the marine life that makes West Maui diving worth the trip: reef sharks, green sea turtles, and the coral formations around Lahaina. The 2 Tank Lanai Cathedral Dive by Boat (84/100) is the standout experience here. The Lanai Cathedrals are underwater lava formations with cathedral-like caverns, and this is one of the few operators running regular boat trips to that site from Lahaina.

The Discover Scuba from Shore (81/100) is a solid entry point for first-timers. Shore dives are lower-commitment than boat dives, and Dive Maui's Lahaina location puts you at a site where visibility is typically good and the marine life is abundant.

Where the scores drop is in the course catalog. PADI Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Nitrox certification, and referral courses all land between 55-69. These are certification programs, not recreational experiences, and scoring them against fun-focused tours is an apples-to-oranges comparison.
