A "Jurassic Park tour" might mean a bus ride, an open-air vehicle, a helicopter landing or a garden walk. Those are very different purchases. Start with the one scene or place that matters to you. Confirm the actual tour format and access. Our planning rule is to choose one confirmed film stop, then build the rest of the day nearby. Before booking, read our Hawaii travel alerts for current travel notices. For a first price comparison, a Viator listing of Hawaii tours is a reasonable starting point. Compare those listings with the operator pages linked below before choosing where to book.
Oʻahu: choose the Kualoa tour that fits
We would start with Kualoa for a day built around movie locations. Pick the actual ride before paying: the ranch offers a bus tour, a longer Jurassic-focused ride and a rougher rainforest outing. Our Kualoa Ranch guide places the visit within a broader Oʻahu trip.
The Movie Sites and Ranch Tour is the 90-minute guided bus ride. The current listing prices it at $59.95 per adult and $39.95 for ages 3 to 12, before the 4.712% tax the ranch adds. Stops listed today include the Finding ʻOhana scavenger-hunt site, the Kong: Skull Island boneyard, the Jumanji dance-fight area and a WWII bunker holding props and posters. It involves minimal walking. If a particular Jurassic scene is your reason for going, ask which current tour visits it before choosing your ticket.
The Jurassic Adventure Tour is the choice for Jurassic fans. It runs about 2.5 hours in open-air vehicles across the Kualoa, Hakipuʻu and Kaʻaʻawa valleys and visits locations from the original Jurassic Park as well as Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom sites. Listed pricing is $149.95 per adult and $74.95 for ages 3 to 12 before tax. Minimum age is 3. The ranch calls the roads bumpy and does not recommend the tour for pregnant guests or people with back or neck problems.
The Jungle Expedition Tour is a 90-minute open-air ride into the Hakipuʻu rainforest, listed at $59.95 per adult and $39.95 for ages 3 to 12 before tax, with the same minimum age of 3 and the same pregnancy and back-or-neck advisory. The valley appeared in Jurassic World, Kong: Skull Island and Jumanji. Its appeal is the rainforest terrain and views. Choose it if you want the rugged ride more than the movie sites.
If you want the movie tour plus time on the water, the Kualoa Half Day Package combines the Movie Sites and Ranch Tour with the Ocean Voyage catamaran ride and a buffet lunch, listed at $124.95 per adult before tax. Do not assume an ATV ride or zipline is part of that package; confirm any additional activity before paying.
As of September 29, 2026, Kualoa lists the prices above. Recheck the advertised price, tax and final booking total before paying. Kualoa recommends reserving ahead and says tours can sell out. The ranch's FAQ states that bookings made directly with Kualoa require a phone call at least 48 hours before the tour or pickup time for a full refund. If you book through a third party, that seller's cancellation terms apply instead.
Round-trip transportation from select Waikīkī hotels is listed at $30 per person plus tax, where your tour is compatible with the add-on. Check your booking confirmation for transportation details, then confirm the pickup location and check-in time with the ranch. Closed-toe shoes are recommended on the bumpy tours. If anyone in your party has boarding or mobility needs, contact the ranch before paying so you know what can be accommodated.
Kauaʻi's Jurassic Park waterfall is a helicopter day
Manawaiopuna Falls, the 400-foot waterfall seen in Jurassic Park, is listed by Hawaii's official visitor site as reachable by air tour only. Plan this as a booked air-tour visit, not a do-it-yourself waterfall hike.
Island Helicopters' Jurassic Falls Landing Adventure is the product that lands at the falls. The operator lists it at 75 to 80 minutes of total tour time including the landing, so the flying portion is shorter than that number. The advertised price is $449.30 per person. Ask for the exact booking total before you commit. The operator requires an additional seat for a passenger weighing 240 pounds or more, or for two traveling together whose combined weight is 420 pounds or more. Passengers and carry-on items are weighed at check-in; review the full terms before paying. The landing tour is offered five days a week, so contact the operator to match it to your dates.
Weather governs everything here. Island Helicopters says routes and location access may vary with conditions, and if the helicopter cannot land at the falls, the flight continues as its island tour with the price difference refunded. Do not treat a clear morning as guaranteed. When booking any Kauaʻi helicopter tour that mentions the falls, ask explicitly whether it lands or only flies over. Do not assume that a mention of the waterfall includes time on the ground.
Allerton Garden: the fig roots, on a guided garden tour
The Moreton Bay fig roots from Jurassic Park are inside Allerton Garden on Kauaʻi's south shore, part of the National Tropical Botanical Garden. The operator features those roots on its standard Allerton Garden Guided Tour, which is a garden and landscape-art tour first and a film stop second. The standard tour page lists adults at $65, about 2.5 hours, a required bus ride into the garden, arrival 30 minutes before departure, and closed-toe shoes or secure hiking sandals.
Read the current Allerton access notice before selecting a departure. Temporary operating arrangements can override standard pickup instructions. Confirm the meeting point and the route offered on your date, then check Hawaii Travel Alerts for wider island conditions. Book Allerton if you want a serious plant and design tour with a film connection. For a visit focused entirely on filming, ask how much movie interpretation your chosen tour includes.
Scenic Kauaʻi with a film footnote
Keep Wailua sightseeing within an east-side day instead of squeezing it between distant timed tours.
Treat a scenic outing and a narrated film tour as different choices. The official visitor site GoHawaii assigns the Wailua River to Blue Hawaii and Islands in the Stream, and the Nāpali Coast to The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Six Days Seven Nights.
For a river cruise or Nāpali boat trip, read the actual itinerary. A film credit attached to the landscape does not establish what the guide will discuss. If movie commentary matters, confirm that it is included. Ask your operator which areas your tour may enter, and follow posted boundaries.
Other islands and TV locations, briefly
Kualoa’s filmography includes Lost and Hawaii Five-0. Before choosing a tour, ask which of those filming sites are included. Get the property owner’s permission before entering private homes or grounds. For downtown Honolulu, ʻIolani Palace is worth considering as a separate history visit; check its own tickets and access notices before adding it.
On Maui, Grand Wailea's FAQ confirms that many Hawaii scenes from Just Go With It were filmed there, and also that it currently offers no pool or day passes for non-resort guests. The filming connection does not grant pool access. For any Maui or Big Island film add-on, confirm the exact scene, whether the site permits visitors, and how you would get there before rearranging an island itinerary around it.
Planning the days
On Oʻahu, give Kualoa a windward-side day. Pair it with the coast and bay near the ranch, and keep downtown Honolulu for a separate day. Our planning preference is to avoid squeezing Kualoa, a timed downtown palace tour and Lanikai into the same day. Allow spare time for traffic, check-in and the visits themselves.
On Kauaʻi, choose one anchor: the helicopter landing or the garden tour. Do not book both on the same day with tight timing, because they have different check-in and departure requirements. Leave a flexible day so an operator can reschedule you for weather, which they may offer subject to availability but cannot promise. Check local access and each operator's current notices close to travel.
Use My Trip to organize your saved stops and our multi-island logistics guide if the film day sits inside a longer trip. Kualoa recommends closed-toe shoes for the Jungle Expedition. Our packing suggestion is to add a light rain layer. Kualoa’s weather policy says tours generally run rain or shine unless there are high winds or lightning, and the ranch reserves the right to cancel if conditions are unsafe. Island Helicopters recommends dark clothing for helicopter photos. Our Oʻahu and Kauaʻi island pages cover the rest.
