Edition status as of October 12, 2026 (Hawaiʻi time): the October 10, 2026 race date has passed. IRONMAN’s official Kona page now lists October 9, 2027. The 2026 format brought men and women together in Kona on one race day. Plan the next edition from its own notices rather than copying 2026 restrictions.
Review IRONMAN's Kona course page and current traffic, event, and spectator information before making a race-day drive. Do not rely on an older map or assume access at a park.
The October 10 race-day park notice is historical, not a current closure list or proof of reopening. Check current DLNR park notices and our travel alerts for the place you intend to visit. Separate park closures can outlast the race.
For a future edition, assign the confirmed race day a role before booking. Make it a race day if you want the atmosphere. Otherwise, consider a close-to-lodging day or build the trip around the east side. Check access from the proposed hotel before committing to a long west-side drive that morning.
