Valley Isle Waterfalls

Must See Maui Waterfalls

Maui waterfalls are some of the world’s best- hands down. And because we want to help you choose which you’d like to see, we’ve compiled a list of some of most talked-about falls on the Valley Isle.

Most of the Maui falls we list here are accessible by independent travelers, assuming they are not closed or kapu (off limits). Of course, please respect any signage indicating closures or restrictions; for your safety as well as out of respect for the locals. Many visitors enjoy touring the falls on their own, while others prefer taking in the sights with an expert local guide- it’s simply a matter of personal preference.

Note that we've included the height of the falls when possible, ranked it (out of 5 stars), noted if it's a seasonal fall (dry in summer or too heavy of a flow in winter), and included any additional access information.

If you think you've located a Maui waterfall we've mistakenly left off this list, kindly contact us and we'll make sure it's added- we'd love to hear from you! Also, be sure to check out all the waterfalls in Hawaii on our Hawaii Waterfalls page.

As we mentioned, choosing how to visit the waterfalls is up to you; however, if you are in search of a guided Maui waterfall tour we suggest a Road to Hana tour from our friends at Valley Isle Excursions. They will know which are the best Maui waterfalls based on the day of your tour. Plus, you’ll ride in luxury in their comfy custom cruisers. Easy viewing, best waterfalls, best guides, and the first Hawaii-based tour operator to complete the Hawaii Green Business Program- you’ll love them as much as we do!

Or, perhaps you’d prefer soaring high above the falls- a vantage point like no other and a breathtaking way to appreciate their beauty. If so, then a Maui helicopter tour fits the bill.
