Caption: This map is designed to show you how to reach the water diversion of the Wailua River in the Wai`ale`ale basin. You can continue beyond this point up to the 'Blue Hole.' This is not a trail hike, but more of a stream hike. It should only be attempted by those in excellent physical health and with significant hiking experience. The view from the water diversion into the crater is phenomenal on a clear day, and will suffice as a stopping point for many hikers. How far you can drive in along the route will depend on your car and nerves. We have provided full trail information and distances on our Blue Hole hiking page (link below).
